Note also: This website is intended as a informative website. I am somewhat 'conservative' as a person and although I admire many other sites, with great video photage etc etc, my time is at a premium what with running the SDF, running courses and seminars, and of course working for our Charity "Action for Society". This means I cannot spend hours uploading film clips, photos etc etc, and I intend (for the time being at least) to get as much relevant information on this site as is possible in order for the SDF to maintain and expand on its position as the UK's FOREMOST self-defence organisation.                                                                                                                                I hope you all understand and accept these viewpoints (even if you might not agree with them Ha Ha)

You will need to register as a member if you want to access all the info.
This is a very simple process.
The site will have content added almost daily over the next couple of weeks, and the licences etc are all at the printers so we will " LAUNCH " as soon as we are ready.

Couple of bits on news for June:                                                                             SEAN O'NEILL of the Hoyland Hosin Sul/TKD club has been awarded his 7th Dan from Grandmaster Tony Quigley ...                                          congratulations.Sean.                                                                                                                    

      Also Alan Bell our Rep in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland has sent me a copy of his new book "The Complete Book of Personal Safety". Its to be highly recommended and Alan kindly asked me to do the foreword. Contact Alan if you would like a copy.

As well as Alan's Book mentioned above, we have yet another 'offer' to mention from Martin J Dougherty of SDF Sunderland.                                                              So to make it a tad fairer and easier I have placed more details/announcements on the SDF GOODS Page.                                                                                         This is 16th down from the top on the list at the left hand side.                                   Both books are well worth the prices and different enough from each other to make purchasing BOTH of them good value.                                                                        After all you can get BOTH of them for under £20. now that aint bad.

REGISTERED BLACK BELTS ... are all SDF members with grades in other systems. NOT SDF, although some are in both lists

SDF DIPLOMAS ... Tells you all about the SDF's unique instructor's Diploma Courses.

SDF Diploma ASSESSORS .. These are members who can qualify NEW Instructors on the Diploma Courses.

SDF Diploma Instructors ... these are members who have passed one or more of the FIVE Diploma Levels and are authorised to officially TEACH self-defence methods based on these diplomas
