SDF IRELAND LICENCE HANDBOOKS ... READ ON

We now have licence handbooks JUST  for SDF Ireland                                However, there are a few little bits to understand about receiving them. FIRST ...Any CURRENT SDF member who lives in Ireland will receive their new SDF Ireland Licences FREE. These new licences will expire on the same date as thei current SDF UK ones.                                                        SECOND. Please do NOT send SDF Ireland Applications to ME. William Ferry  is the Co-Ordinator for all of Ireland. Send the applications to HIM.        He will send on the details to me. In order to have some form of ordered structure to this new Federation we need to do all our admin sensibly and correctly. THANK YOU!

So COME ON Irish martial artists and self-defence people .. You now have your OWN orgnisation .... a new beginning has arrived!

Big News for 2010, is the formation of SDF IRELAND.

The SDF has tried several times to gain a 'foothold' in Ireland, (both North & South), however although we do have members and instructors in Ireland, we haven't really had the interest we would have liked, or the personnel to carry it out.                                                                        Thankfully, this has now changed!

Myself, as well as a couple of my highest ranked instructors have indeed visited Ireland to teach our methods, and have been well received indeed. Also several excellent people have crossed the water to come to the UK to train under me (Dave Turton). This means that although we DO have several excellent trained and registered SDF members in Ireland, we DON'T have any real 'structure', just a bunch of good guys!                 

Both myself and William will be contacting people in the New Year with a view to generating interest in SDF IRELAND

We now have an individual who WANTS to organise the SDF in Ireland, who has the right credentials, who has the right motivation and ideas ..    he is WILLIAM FERRY  of Dungannon.                                                                                                                                                                                 He is a a former Ulster, Irish & British Kickboxing Champ and is highly respected throughout Ireland & the UK

William has a GREAT C.V. and is highly motivated to achieving a  'Realistic Self-Defence Body' in Ireland, run by an Irishman, and with a structure designed  for the Irish. ... WONDERFUL.        This venture will have the total and fullest support of the UK's SDF (and ME personally), but will be more of an Affiliation rather than just a branch of the UK's SDF.

We will have separate Licence Handbooks and all members will be registered both in IRELAND and in the UK.

There will be a slightly different FEE structure, mainly due to the members insurance cover. Although Northern Ireland is covered by our Insurnace Company, sadly they don't cover Southern Ireland. Now as we intend SDF IRELAND to cover the whole of Ireland, and as most clubs and instructors in Ireland have their own insurances in place anyway. We will be issuing licences WITHOUT insurance cover unless individuals and/or clubs require our cover, remembering of course that we can only get insurance cover for Northern Ireland.                                                    This way SDF Ireland members still get membership and discounts etc that come with that membership, but will be paying a lower membership fee due to the lack of insurance.

The actual Fees are still being worked out, but rest assured, when William and myself get all these matters sorted, all details will be on here!

OK ... Matters are certainly moving on ... We are in the process of sorting out a FREE Information Pack for those who want more details, also we have designed a new Licence Handbook for SDF IRELAND .. These will be available soon on request....

It looks like the Membership Fees to SDF Ireland will be SENIORS = £15.00 PER YEAR AND JUNIORS (u'16'S) £10.00P PER YEAR.                                                                                          Application forms will soon be with our Ireland Co-ordinator WILLIAM FERRY
